The U17s made it two wins in two in the U17 league with another very convincing win against Letchworth.
Murray Davidson continued his scintillating form for the U17/U19s scoring a magnificent 53* retired off just 26 balls, including 3 massive 6s! Ben Cowper also batted very well alongside him reaching 50* retired in 35 balls, as they got us off to an absolute flyer again. We had a slower period in the middle but Olly Hartnell got us back on track with a solid 26 before Aidan Murphy finished our innings off with some late boundaries to take us to 198-2 in our 20 overs.
In response, Max took an early wicket clean bowling their opener who was attempting a reverse sweep off a full quick ball which went as well as you think it would do! Sam Robinson bowled tightly as usual, whilst Matt Jones unfortunately took a wicket off a front foot no ball, which meant Benjy’s excellent diving catch merely saved a couple of runs. Archie Racey and Kieran Surujbally both bowled tightly with Archie taking a wicket thanks to the pressure they built. Max came back to nick off their best batsmen who batted well for 33. Ben Cowper won the chance to bowl the last over and bowled pretty well, creating two chances, including a wicket off the final ball, thanks to a spectacular one handed catch from Sam Robinson (albeit he made it harder for himself than needed!)
We now look forward to heading to Hoddy on Friday to hopefully keep up our winning run!
