Saffron Walden batted first and playing the HJL rules managed to take a flurry of early wickets largely thanks to on form Flo taking 4-10 off her 3 overs supported by Poppy 1-10. then a steady stream of wickets pegged Walden back until Elizabeth ripped through the tail with 4 wickets from two overs for no runs.
In reply Stortford surpassed the total in the 10th over with Elizabeth and Poppy retiring on 33 an 31 respectively. Batting on good scores from Suzy, Saskia and Millie plus a lot of extras meant the girls finished on 170 for the loss of 2 wickets.
With a shortage of fixtures it was good for the girls to get a run out before the next league games. A game to build confidence and experience.
