The weather was great, we had 12 players and the opposition made the trip from Abbots Langley. So we managed to create a 9-a-side game with Millie, Amandi and Natalie playing for ALCC.
BSCC lost the toss and batted, scoring well but importantly rarely getting out so took their 200 up to 297. Top Scorer was Emily Rollins, and everyone chipped in. Then bowling we restricted ALCC to 273, and importantly took 9 wickets, and bowled less wides than the opposition. Kathry Rollins with the best bowling of 2-10 of 3 overs, and almost everyone took wickets.
All twelve girls had excellent games, many of whom were playing their first competitive game. Lotty did a great job as captain, but for me the player of the match was Olivia Kirkham for wicket keeping for the first time and showing great strength of character as well as an excellent performance.
I was absolutely delighted with the girls, they are really working hard of their games and playing in an excellent spirit, supporting one another and listening well to advice from coaches.
Well done everybody and thanks to Scorer Clare Mackinlay, Umpire Peter Hobson and to Andrew Povey-Richards for sharing the management of the game.
