A lovely, sunny day saw the u13 girls welcome St Albans to BSCC.
Cerys, as Captain, won the toss and elected to field first and all 8 girls bowled incredibly well. Giving away only 4 wides and 2 no balls throughout the entire innings.
A good wicket tally from Mattie(3), Beth(2) and one apiece for Grace, Charlotte and Aggie kept the opposition result down at just 202/8. Plenty of dot balls and confident keeping from Cerys helped keep their run tally to just 26 runs.
A quick water and cake break (yum! thank you to Aggie’s mum and Evie’s mum for the cakes) was taken before heading out to bat. As with the bowling we demonstrated some really solid batting. All the girls ran well, taking advantage of some slightly sloppy fielding to get that run tally creeping up. There were a few close calls!! We only conceded 5 wickets and due to a good, solid run tally of 57 meant we finished on a healthy 270/5 and won convincingly.
All in all it was a very enjoyable game to watch. Very hard to call a PoM so giving it to the whole team as they all played their part in keeping the extras very low and the opposition's score a comfortable one to beat.
Huge thanks to John Lyle for letting himself get roped into umpiring at the last minute and to Glenn for his warm up, pep talk and score board duties. Much appreciated, thank you!
