U13 girls beat High Roding in Round 2 of the T20 Cup!

High Roding welcomed us to their picturesque ground for a late afternoon cup match in glorious sunshine.
HR won the toss and elected to field first.
Ciara and Evie started our innings, with Evie cracking out some fantastic shots across the field.
We lost Ciara and then Anastasia fairly quickly before Grace took to the wicket with Evie. Between them they notched a very healthy 54 runs (Evie - 5 x 4s and 30 total , Grace 4x4s and 24 total) before stopping for a drinks break after 10 overs. Unfortunately their rhythm was broken and shortly after the break, they were both dismissed.
The wickets fell pretty swiftly after that but we finished on a respectable 102/7.

High Roding began their batting with two strong hitters, however their strongest threat only got to 25 before Daisy removed her with a fabulous bowl. Their next batter soon made a risky run off Ciara's great bowl, which was swept up neatly and calmly by Imi and the bails went flying. From that moment we had it under control. Two wickets in one over followed for Anastasia, followed by a double wicket, maiden over for Grace. Charlotte removed their last batter with a great bowl and run out, assisted by an accurate throw in by Grace. Job done in just 9.2 overs!
It was a great show of team camaraderie, grit and determination by the girls to take the win. Thanks to all the girls for their enthusiasm as always.
