BSCC U13 girls hosted a depleted Radlett team who had already conceded the game but sent 4 of their players to get a game on. 4 Stortford girls drawn from a hat (Wanatsa, Marie, Catherine & Poppy) stepped up to make the Radlett team complete.
Poppy and Marie opened the batting scoring a 29 partnership without loss. Catherine & Wanatsa added another 13 runs with a loss of just 1 wicket. Emma took and an impressive 3 wickets in her 2nd over with Wanatsa taking a wicket. An additional run out and an array of wides and no balls left BSCC chasing 291-5
Our stronger bowlers were on the opposition team so run rates were kept low with some excellent bowling from Catherine (1 for 3 of 2 overs, her first being a maiden), Poppy (1 for 5 of 2 overs) including an outstanding one handed catch and Marie who bowled 3 overs, one maiden with one wicket and a run out - giving her figures of 1 for 2. Stortford finished on 222-6.
Wanatsa stepped into the wicket keeping role not letting much through for the Radlett side, plus scored an impressive front drive boundary 4.
All in all a great, friendly game where the girls all supported each other. The opposition coach was very complementary about all our girls and said what a pleasure it was to visit Stortford. So well done all.
Player of the match Marie Surujbally.
