U12s win final league game vs WGC U12

9 girls travelled to Welwyn Garden City and we crafted a game with the 4 WGC girls. There were excellent performances by many girls. WGC won the toss and chose to field first. The girls made steady progress against some good bowling, until an excellent partnership between Florence (Flo) Bellerby and Beth Hannant accelerated the score with Flo top scoring with 15 runs. Poppy O'Toole batting twice scored a strong 13 (getting out once) and Suzannah Reader 8. The best bowler for WGC being Lilly Newton guesting for them and taking 2 wickets for 10 runs. BSCC finished on 265 for the loss of 3 wickets.
In reply Stortford fielded well and bowled straight, Poppy with an excellent 1 wickets for 6 runs off 3 overs, and Marie Surujbally conceding only 5 runs. Flo completed a player of the match performance by bowling 3 overs and taking 1 wicket for 4 runs. WGC's best batting performance being Alicia Pyle guesting who scored 12 runs. Finishing 6 runs short at 259 for 3 wickets.
