Good start continues for the U9

The under 9s continued their good start to the season with a hard fought victory at Hoddesdon. Another 5 young players got their first match experience as Jasper, Joshua, Zafir, Rayaan and Farai, who took two stunning catches, all made their debuts for the club.

Every player contributed with the bat, Bradley top scoring with a busy 8 runs and Jasper and Farai each finding a boundary on their way to 7, setting Hoddesdon a target of 251 to win.

Hoddesdon’s opening pair got off to a solid start, finishing their set of 5 overs on 220/1. The next pair continued the strong start until back to back wicket maidens from Hugo and Josh brought Stortford back into the game.

The game remained evenly poised, with Hoddesdon needing just 13 off the last 4 overs but some excellent bowling under pressure from Josh, Bradley, Brandon and especially Hugo, with a second wicket maiden of the match, saw Stortford over the line.
