Finally, the weather was kind to us away at North Enfield on a sun bathed, green and sloping wicket. We won the toss and decided to bowl as chasing seems to be our strength. An accurate bowling and tight fielding performance limited North Enfield to 256/3, with Will, Stanley and Ozzie picking a wicket each.
In reply, we started shakily with 2 quick wickets without a run on the scoreboard! However, we made a steady recovery, with everyone chipping-in nicely. We still needed 15 runs from our last pair Stanley and Harrison, so nerves were jangling! Stanley pulled the first ball for a massive 6, followed by 2 more fours to level scores and relieve the nerves. Harrison (16/2) and Stanley (20 n.o.) then knocked N Enfield's bowlers around the park to finish with a comfortable 14 run win at 270/5.
A fantastic all-around team performance, capped by a superb and attacking individual innings by Stanley.
