Bishops Stortford U9s won an engaging and brilliantly contested match after the start being delayed by a previous match.
It was worth the wait as drizzle settled in, wind blew and light dissipated.
Both teams showed tremendous spirit, effort and sportsmanship that was mirrored by both sets of parents and officials.
BSCC opened the batting with all players showing positive scores, the lowest 3 runs, and the highest was Bertie's stylish 17 off 12 balls.
The bowling was quite remarkable, with only 2 of the boys costing double figures, all from 2 overs each.
Brendan O'Reilly took the stumps twice and Bertie took a wicket by run out, claiming a maiden, cementing his MotM award.
We especially look forward to hosting Hertford in our last group match of the season.
Thanks to Anthony Foster for his meticulous scoring and Richard Warnes for his impressive coaching techniques, gentle manner and positive energy.
