U9's first win!!

The U9's were rightfully proud after their first win yesterday evening against a good Sawbridgeworth team.

Captain for the match was Matthew Duffy.

Sawbridgeworth batted first. Not a bad bowling display from Stortford. Wickets taken by Luke Sellers (2), Aidan Murphy(1) and Matthew Duffy(1).
But it was the overall team fielding display that was really impressive. The team were focussed and vigilant and not much went past them giving away only x4 fours and x6 single runs. A few too many Wides, but it's early days, and this can be improved upon with more practice.

A great batting display by everyone. Great communication between the pairs who worked wonderfully together. Fours scored by Kieran Surujbally and Matthew Duffy.Tally Miles, William Worthy, Jonathan Bird, Luke Sellers and Talal Sajad all scored runs too.

But a special mention has to be given to top Batsman of the match, Aidan Murphy. Aidan quite literally, knocked them all over the place. With 5 fours and a SIX!!...it was a truly impressive display. Well done Aidan. A promising start!!

Thank you to The U9's who turned up to support their team but weren't actually playing...and no, the bar wasn't open!! A real show of team spirit.
