U10 beat Hertford by 2 runs

A low scoring encounter turned into nail biter as U10 beat Hertford for the second time this season.

As the midday sun beat down, final pair Hugo and Austin kept their cool to frustrate Hertford’s bowlers and see U10 over the line to victory.

Earlier in the day, U10 had won the toss and asked Hertford to set a target on what was evidently a sluggish outfield. Hugo (3-1-2-3), Bradley (3-1-6-2) and Farai (3-0-8-1) all shared the wickets as an impressive team display of bowling and fielding limited Hertford to 226-7.

In reply, U10 had to dig in and be patient against a consistently accurate Hertford attack. With the scores level, Austin and Hugo nudged U10 ahead with a single each in the penultimate set of 5. Hugo minimised risk to see out the final 5 balls without loss and ensure U10 went home with maximum points.
