U10 suffered a heavy home defeat to St Margaretsbury in the incrediball league on a cool and breezy evening up on the plateau.
Freddie and Charlie both hit boundaries as U10 scored 87 runs. But the loss of 8 wickets (minus 40 runs) meant St Margaretsbury only required 248 runs to win. The St Margetsbury fielders enjoyed an evening of catching practice as too many U10 shots were sent skyward.
Despite a couple of wickets each from Zafir and Felix, U10 could not find a consistent enough line and length with the ball to seriously defend their total. Some over exuberant fielding gave the St Margaretsbury batters a significant proportion of the runs they required in buzzers, as the young side from Ware eventually closed on 320/5 to win comfortably by 73 runs.
