Hertford were the visitors on a warm and sunny evening in Bishops Stortford, as U10B sought to make it 2 wins from 2 this season. A fixture clash with the U10A meant there was opportunity for some U9 players to step up an age group. Hertford batted first but had to work hard for runs against some tight bowling. Joshua was the pick of the attack, bowling with pace and accuracy to finish with 4 wickets for 2 runs off 3 overs. Freddie, Brandon and Maddie also took a wicket each whilst Bradley demonstrated his athleticism in the field, diving to prevent a 4 in the final over. Hertford closed their innings with a modest 226/7.
U10B wasted little time in getting the runs required, batting with intent and purpose. Bradley and Maddie worked well running between the wickets before Sai hit a fine cut shot which deserved more than 2 runs. Taylor hit a lovely 4 to keep the score moving in the right direction. Josh hit 2 4s as he and final pair partner Hugo each played some fine strokes to end the innings in style on 280/1.
