The U10s kept their heads and won a close chase on the Plateau. Braughing batted first and scored 273. The U10s fielded and bowled very well taking 5 wickets. Only one opposition batsman managed to get into double figures. Thomas, Rupert and James bowled particularly tightly.
Given the shorter boundaries 274 looked achievable and the team batted very positively, possibly pushing a bit too hard for singles on occasion. We did lose a number of wickets to run outs (something to work on for next time), but put a lot of pressure on the fielders. A steady chase picked up speed with each pair getting more boundaries as we went on. Arthur, Rupert and Adi each hit one as did Teddy on debut for the U10s with a lovely straight drive. Henry hit two, Sam three (including a flat six) and then James topped it off with 6 fours in the last pair to give the team a bit of breathing space in the last couple of overs.
