Broxbourne - 246
BSCC - 213
25 wickets tumbled on a sticky wicket in overcast Broxbourne. An inexperienced BSCC bowled and fielded really well, with special thanks to Ollie who took the 'keepers gloves and did a great job. Wickets fell regularly, catches were taken, run outs executed and they were at the right side of chirpy in the field. Lots of good straight bowling and most took at least a wicket with Sam and Toby taking 2 each and Ed with 3 victims. However, a couple of class batsmen pushed the score to 246. The score looked low, "but you never know until both sides have batted!" From the beginning our boys struggled to get the ball away on a slow low wicket. Apart from Sam's 18 runs including a couple of sweep shots that he hit miles, we only hit one other boundary. Add to this some good bowling, some swings and misses and the fact that Broxbourne held some stunning catches we were never really in it. We lost 14 wickets which is just too many, but the boys walked off with heads held high, smiles on faces and hopefully they were glad to have finally played a game! Thanks to Luca's dad for scoring and I believe that concludes the matches for the year!
