Weak performance led to first loss for BSCC U10s Incredi team

Batting highlight: Kim 7 runs.
Bowling highlight: Padraig & Dexter both 2o-5r-0w each.

Hoddesdon bowled and fielded very well and as a unit, whilst BSCC batted poorly to score 231/7 and four batters had negative scores! The pitch also did not help the batting with balls flying overhead, deviating massively or rolling along the ground.

At half time I told the team that we still had a chance if we just bowled in good areas and fielded the same way they did. Unfortunately, we didn't with dropped catches, missed run outs, lack of backing up, not walking in, ignoring captain's/coach's instructions, talking too much, not focussing on the game and making basic fielding mistakes, i.e. not using the long barrier. Apart from a couple of run outs and Krishan's sharp keeping, there wasn't much positive to say!

I told everyone to learn from this loss and aim to improve at least two areas of their game next time. Nets are great for hardball batting/bowling, but we still need to do the fielding drills and make sure we get the basic things right.

I am away this Sunday (watching Afghanistan beat Australia in Bristol!!), so please work hard on the fielding drills and I will see you in a couple of weeks.
