WGC had a stronger side than yesterday, but the result was the same. They batted first and posted a reasonable total of 287/2. The highlight of the innings was Cass's two handed catch off Daniel which was well above his head and travelling! Ossie's captaincy also had to be commended, as he learns the art quickly, e.g. changing a bowler's end when struggling down hill, bringing fielders in for a weaker player and moving out for his stronger partner and mixing his bowlers depending on batsman's strength. It was a bit disappointing we missed out on a couple of easy run outs though.
WGC had a much faster opening bowler today, which Matt struggled against, being struck on his thigh first and then getting caught. Then there was steady batting from everyone to reach 281 before Daniel and Cam walked in. Daniel continued where he left off yesterday, dispatching another 23 runs.
This confirms BSCC at the top of the league with a home venue playoff (date and opposition will be confirmed on Friday). I'll update pitchero thereafter, so please update availability asap. The squad is very strong this year, so I'm afraid there will be a few disappointed players. But at this stage I'll select players who I feel will deliver the results needed to win the tournament. Hope you can accept my judgment!
WRT the incrediball format, there is a chance we don't make the playoffs. Apparently teams finishing second do not automatically qualify, but instead it depends on their average points and that will be confirmed when all the teams have played by Friday!
