BSCC U10s hardball team through to FINALS!

An amazing performance by the lads -most of them young enough to still play for the U9s team!

I don't have the score sheets, but again great BSCC bowling and fielding meant Broxbourne ended with a below par 269/4 on a good wicket with fast outfield.

In reply, we batted steadily, but were short at ~238 by the time the last pair walked in. BTW, trying to reverse sweep poorly twice was not what the team was looking for - hopefully the lesson was learnt! Anyway, Ed and Stanley smacked the ball all around the park to take the score to 266 runs with one over to go. However, Broxbourne's best cricketer who also batted very well, bowled the final over and on target. Stanley could only manage a single off the 3rd ball. But then, Ed timed the ball perfectly off his pads - easily the best shot of the day and under such immense pressure, towards the vacant cow corner boundary. Even though a fielder dived to stop the ball, his entire body went over the boundary and we got the much needed and in my opinion deserved runs.

At the end and before any celebrations, the boys made sure to shake every Broxbourne player's hand - thanks to Lloyd who made sure both teams would do that at the start - note that some of the players knew exactly how it feels to lose at this stage from last year.

Anyway, a fantastic game of cricket - not for the faint hearted though! Let's hope we get the same result for the incrediball team on Thursday at home against Stevenage. Please come and support them if you can!
