BOTH BSCC U10s Teams make FINALS!!

This was the second play-off match for the U10s squad and winning probably makes history with two teams from the same age group making the finals. After a difficult selection decision, it was decided that two different teams would play, apart from Daniel who played in both, so that's 15 different U10 players form the club!

BSCC bowled first, with everyone bowling in good areas and fielders in correct positions thanks mainly to captain Ossie. Pick of the bowlers was Ruben taking two crucial wickets and there was also Daniel's run out. Stevenage never really got going and ended with a below par 254/4.

In reply, Ruben and Cassidy had a slow start with Ruben getting bowled twice. Felix and George helped the score along, but Felix also got bowled. A point to not is that most opposition tend to bat in front of their stumps and without the LBW rule, end up saving many wickets - maybe there is a lesson to be learnt there!! Dylan and Ollie pushed up the score with a 16 run partnership, leaving 19 runs to win off the last 4 overs. Daniel and Ossie then did exactly what the doctor ordered and just got their noses ahead with an over to go. Sensibly, Ossie blocked the final over, with the score at 258/5, 4 runs ahead of the opposition score.

A great and well planned victory from our incrediball team - well led by the first time captain Ossie.

I have to also thank all the parents for your support and backing throughout the year. Certain selection and team decisions have been tough, but you've endured them without any complaints! It's hard volunteering to run two U10s teams, coach on Sundays and do all the other cricket stuff for Daniel during the year (winter and summer leagues!!), so mistakes are sometimes made, so I appreciate your understanding. Anyway, all the hard work is almost over, so let's enjoy both finals on Sunday the 8th, whatever the result.

FYI, the hardball finals will be at Sawbo CC at 12:00 and the incrediball finals will be at Radlett CC, time to be confirmed. Please support the teams, particularly as there is no training on Sunday.
