St Margaretsbury - no match for BSCC U10s!

St Margs won the toss and put the 7-man BSCC into bat on a lovely evening and impressively on the superb first team square!!

BSCC made use of the small boundary and close-in fielding positions with Dylan & Harrison scoring 26/1, Cameron & Thomas 27/1, Millie & Felix putting on and amazing 39 runs and finally Ed batted beautifully against some good bowling and would've top scored on 25, but got out 4 times and therefore ended on only 5 runs! The top score went to captain Cameron with 23 runs not out and BSCC were quietly confident at the half way point.

In reply, St Margaretsbury failed to put pressure on BSCC bowlers, scoring 61 runs/2 in their innings. Ed was the pick of the bowlers, taking both the wickets. One particular bowl was literally a leg side wide, but swung back in to clip the left bail - the batter asked me how he should've played the ball and my reply was - no idea!!

It was great to see such a positive and commanding performance by all our players. Fielding was excellent again, with much improved field positions and good backing up. One small fielding blemish was not always walking in - hopefully, it will sink in and everyone will walk in without a prompt!

Next match is a hardball game away at Broxbourne tomorrow evening. Let's hope for a similar performance.
