BSCC beat St Margs - Just!!

BSCC won the toss and decided to bowl first on a beautiful summer evening.

BSCC started well with Daniel and Felix picking up 2 quick first pair wickets with the score at 205/2. Ossie then picked up another and the boys kept it tight to 215/3 after the second pair batted. Then there was an amazing throw with a direct hit by Ollie from the 3rd man position - best fielding moment of the season. Daniel kept up the pressure with another wicket with an unplayable in-swinging yorker; score was at 5/224. Finally, Stanley and Will picked up a wicket each to leave St Margs at a below par 236/7. Well done to all the boys for keeping up the energy levels, working hard and staying focussed, particularly good considering we had three débutantes!

BSCC had a perfect start thanks mainly to Harrison who top scored with 17 runs, including four boundries! Everyone else then chipped in nicely to keep the score ticking, in particular Felix who showed great bowling, batting and fielding maturity, for his first match. We were 229/0 after Harrison/Ossie's, 242/1 after Felix/Ollie's and then 241/5 after Will/Dexter's batting. Unfortunately, Dexter and Will faced probably the best opposition bowlers and lost a few wickets, but this is all good experience. Finally, Daniel and Stanley kept it interesting getting out once each, but still knocking it around to get over the line, with BSCC ending at 251/7 wickets.

We are now sitting 2nd in both the hardball and incrediball U10s leagues, with our nemesis Broxbourne at the top. Guess what, our next two matches are against Broxbourne, so to guarantee play-offs, we must beat them! So, please put up your availability for the next two games asap.
