Braughing won the toss and decided to bowl on a green top and softish pitch, but at least it was sunny!
BSCC U10s made a steady start with Cameron and Sam making 21 runs, Harry and Harrison 15 runs, Ed and Thomas 20 runs, but then an explosive partnership by captain Stanley and Henry of 37 runs put BSCC in a comfortable position at 293/4. The soft pitch and rather variable Braughing bowling made it rather tricky to bat, but we were happy at the half way point.
BSCC then put on more pressure with tight bowling and fielding. Harrison was the pick of the bowlers with swing and pace resulting in 1 early wicket. A great run out by Stanley and steady bowling by everyone else ended Braughing's innings at 214/7, with a comfortable 79 run victory.
A great start to the 2018 season - perhaps the only area we need to work on is remembering to walk in and back-up every ball.
Also, a big apology from me for getting pitchero message wrong, ending up with 2 more players than needed! Really sorry Freddie for not taking part, but you are definitely in the next incrediball match!
OK, our next two matches are back-to-back hardball matches away at Hertford on Sunday at 3pm and home vs Sawbo on Monday at 10am. CAN YOU PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR CHILD IS ON THE TEAM SHEET AND HAS A GREEN THUMBS UP SYMBOL NEXT TO THEIR NAME, OTHERWISE I'M AFRAID THEY ARE NOT SELECTED!
Thanks,
Fred (BSCC U10s manager and level 2 coach).
