First win down to great teamwork

Bowled first.
Toby opened the bowling with 3 wides and 1 no ball in the 2 overs at the beginning with no runs against him and then bowled a thurs over at the end bowled 1 wide and they got 4 runs from him.
Luca opened the bowling with Toby and got 4 wides and no runs off him.
2nd in was Mathew C and Matthew L. Matthew Crowther got one wicket and they got 2 runs from him, he bowled the last over and they got 1 runs from that over. The other Matthew also got a wicket and they got 5 runs from him. So a good pair.
Next came Bertie and Sam, they smashed Bert's first ball for 4 in his overs he bowled 4 wides in the 2 overs and they scored 7 from the 2 overs. Sam got smashed for 4 three times, 1 wicket, 1 wide, 1 no ball and in total they got 13 from his 2 overs.
Last in was George all 12 balls in his overs either hit or a dot ball giving and one wide they scored 10 from his overs.
Tate was wicket keeper and he did a sterling job. Saving the ball from gaining runs with only a couple of byes.
They scored 268-3 runs in all.

Batting.

Toby opened the batting with a host of 4's and only losing 5 runs by attempting a dilshan! dropping his total to 18 and that have him top batsman score of the game. Luca opened with Toby with an impressive 11 runs made up of one wicket one no ball and 3 balls that went for 4.
Matthew and Bertie our youngsters were in next. Bertie also got 3 balls over the 4 boundary and sadly got run out so -5 he loved the no balls that he created some good runs from ! Matthew also batted well with 3 balls hitting the boundary a few 1's and 2's taking him to a grand score of 15. These two boys played really well together. Certainly a good pair to have together in the u 9's games.
Next in we had Matthew C and Sam, Matthew took a few risks with his running and Sam didn't back up very well which lost us a few points. -15 in total for this pair. Matthew racked up 4 x 4's and a couple of singles. sad that he have away 2 wickets. Sam managed to end on -10.
Tate and George went in last and Tate looked after George brilliantly. They went in knowing that they needed to just really defend and stay in positive figures. Tate got 2 runs and defended the ball well Sam didn't get any runs they completed the job they went in to do. We won with 284 runs to their 268 which was great. The boys all had fun and it was a lovely game to watch.
