U11 maintained their unbeaten start to the season with a hard earned victory at Broxbourne.
After winning the toss, opening pair Zafir and Angus both found the boundary to ease the pressure before Angus was out caught behind.
Veer made a punchy 27 (rtno), hitting 3 fours, 2 sixes and very nearly 1 spectator in a super debut knock for the U11 team.
Not to be outdone, Hugo played himself in before he also crashed 2 maximums on his way to 28 (rtno). He and Austin (17 no) helped U11 take command against their hosts with an excellent 5th wicket stand of 42.
Defending 132 to win, Farai made a double breakthrough in the third over before Hugo struck in the fourth to put Broxbourne in the stink at 19 for 3. The hosts dragged themselves back into the game before Max, back in the attack in the 14th over, got one through the gate to ease U11 nerves.
Conditions were overcast and damp all evening and the heavens were opening as George got the job complete with 2 wickets in the final over to give U11 a deserved 17 run victory.
