U10A Win at St Margaretsbury

St Margaretsbury won the toss and chose to field. Adi and Ryan got us off to a solid start reaching 26 for no wicket after 6 overs. Adi fell unluckily caught at cover trying to pick up the scoring rate. Oliver and Ryan then batted for around 10 overs scoring a over a run a ball. Both retired and Jamie and Henry then batted out most of the remaining overs well and continued to build up the scoring rate. The team finished 125 for 3 which was an impressive effort.

Tight early overs put pressure onto St Margaretsbury and contributed to an early run out. Henry took two wickets in one over and that was followed up by more tight bowling from the team. Further wickets from Oliver, Jamie and Rupert and the retirement of one of the St Margaretsbury openers kept our bowlers on top. We also had the excitement of Adi dropping a catch but showing great composure and immediately throwing down the stumps for a run out. The last pair put on an exciting stand in the final two overs and added 20 but they finished 19 runs short.
