The U11B Team won their third game in a a row this evening away at St Margaretsbury.
We batted first and scored 282. Sam C top scored with 17 including 4 leg side boundaries. He and Henry played through the first 25 balls against some good bowling without losing a wicket. In the middle overs we kept building the score and the boys took on my encouragement to run a bit harder. Jakub hit possibly the hardest shot I have seen this year through the leg side for a one bounce four and all the batters added runs. Rohan and Oliver finished things off well with an excellent partnership of 33 with no wickets.
St Margaretsbury started with a strong pair and scored 14 off the first over, gut the boys kept calm and started to take wickets, but half way through we had six wickets and had kept the score to a net 20. The match finished with more tight bowling even against a strong batsman in the last pair. All of the team contributed in the field with wickets for Rohan, Jakub, Henry and Arthur but (most impressively after the practice on Tuesday!) all of the team backed up very well and were more aggressive in the field generally getting two good run outs.
