Rain led to the home ground being unusable, however Braughing stepped in to host our "home" game. Put into bat on a low-bounce sticky wicket we struggled to get the ball away until Olly A and Henry L started scampering between the wickets. A couple of lusty blows from Thomas A gave a little momentum but the home side bowled full and straight which was hard to get away. However the big positive was we generally played the straight balls quite well....good to see the focus of training coming out on match day. 248 looked a bit lite and so it proved. Some good bowling mixed with some wides and no-balls helped Braughing take control of the game. Despite wickets for Henry, Ollie and Ed we came up 18 runs short. We were a bit sloppy in the field and put down a couple of catches. That said, overall encouraging signs and we got to play the fixture which made for a nice start to a Sunday!
