u11s in dominant display against Hertford

On a warm and humid evening in Hertford an experienced 8-a-side Sloggers team eased their way to victory over a less experienced Hertford side. Bowling first on the astro strip, Hertford found runs hard to come by and lost wickets consistently through their innings. Wickets were shared around with Ed W (3), Henry (2) and one each for Oli and Ed F. Chasing a small total Stortford continued to focus...hungry for runs! They ended up with a few firsts for the season. First time > 2 batters have scored double figures in the same innings AND first 6 hit of the season! Rather than slogging there was just good aggressive batting empitomised by the Ed's (F and W) scoring 25 and 21 respectively. Chris (14) and Olly (8) also weighed in as we scored 14 x 4s and 1 x 6. Exactly what the team needs as they have struggled to score in many games to date. Well done to all the boys, thanks to James for scoring and all the parents for making the game despite traffic and navigation issues.
