Ricketts Inspires Under 11's to Bank Holiday Victory

Toby Ricketts shone with both bat and ball, to inspire BSCC U11 Team 1 (The Eagles) to a comfortable victory this morning at Cricketfield Lane.

Having lost the toss and been sent in to bat, the Eagles started steadily with Fynn and Keir getting scoring a total of 20 runs off their 4 overs without losing a wicket. Grace and Charlie Lingley then picked up plenty of important singles and then Charlie Waugh and Max really pressed the accelerator pedal, as they acquired a huge 38 runs together off their 4 overs. Toby and Luca then continued the quick scoring as the final partnership, with 27 runs, meaning The Eagles would set Braughing a challenging target of 288 (for the loss of just 3 wickets).

Braughing never really looked like they would get close to the required score, with Charlie W, Grace and Toby all picking up a brace of wickets, with the latter spectacularly holding on to a caught and bowled chance.

Max and Fynn both looked very accomplished behind the stumps (for the first time!) and a special mention goes to Toby for his man of the match performance - which included 2 runs outs, 2 wickets and 20 quick fire runs.

Well done to all; we are seeing steady improvements as each week passes.
