U11s Sloggers reach new heights against Hertford

The sun was shining on Stortford u11s this evening in their best batting and fielding display of the season. After being inserted, Stortford lost two quick wickets however an excellent partnership between Alex (26*) and Ed W(22) added 65 at a decent rate. This put us in a very strong position with 5 overs still to play and despite better bowling and some rusty batting we managed to get to 107! Our first score over 100 this season!
Our bowing was solid from the start and wickets fell at regular intervals. Wickets were shared between Conran(2), Chris (2), and 1 each for Ed F, Benji, William H and Lewis. Good fielding also led to two runs outs but the hi-light was the catching. Good catches from Lewis and Will T were overshadowed by two stunning reaction catches by Eddie F who was captain for the day and stand-in ‘keeper. He himself noted the stunned look on the umpire’s face as he twice grabbed catches which showed amazing reactions and agility. Overall a great display and really pleasing to see how much the boys have improved in all aspects of the game!
