SAM BRAUND HAT-TRICK SEALS U11 EAGLES VICTORY

Sam Braund picked up 5 wickets in 8 balls - which included a hattrick - to seal a pleasing U11 Eagles victory in Broxbourne yesterday evening.
Having been asked to bat by the hosts, BSCC batted with patience and great maturity to set a solid target of 106 in their 20 overs. Max Foster excelled at the top of the order, retiring on 28, as he put on an exhibition of how to defend the straight ball, whilst attacking anything that strayed offline. Max Mason also made an outstanding contribution of 18 runs, as he continued to show improvement in all aspects of the game.
Broxbourne's reply started well, as they reached 48-1 at the half way stage, so it was all rather tense, but some excellent bowling from captain Toby R (2 wickets for 3 runs), Harry B (1 wicket for 5 runs) and Ciaran W (0-4) vitally 'swung the tie' in the Eagles favour. Sam B then got to take the match ball home, as he became the first Eagles player to get a hat-trick, to ultimately seal a vital victory, much to the delight of his teammates.
A special mention for the outstanding fielding performance, as we conceded less than 20 extras, so each and every one of you contributed. Well done team and keep it up!
