BSCC U11 v Harpenden

Will won the toss and put the opposition in. They started well despite tight bowling from Harrison but Oliver and William produced 2 great pieces of fielding to run out both openers keeping them to 226 after 4. Joe bowled very well conceding only 4 runs in his 2 overs and Luca took a wicket by bowling straight - 238 at half way. James followed and was difficult to get away and then Will stepped up taking 2 wickets in 2 balls including a catch off his own bowling to keep them to 242 after 12. Tom bowled very well only conceding 4 runs and Luca returned to take 2 in 2 as well, including a good catch from Harrison, and finished with 3-14 in his 3 overs. Will returned for the final over and bowled their last man ending with 3-8 in his 3 overs meaning they finished on only 239-8 - only 2 wides and 2 no balls in 16 overs was a great effort.
Harrison and William gave us great start hitting 3 boundaries between them and losing only 1 wicket to leave us at 221 after 4. Joe and Luca also hit a 4 each but we lost 2 wickets to a brilliant quick ball and then a direct hit run out but we still got to 235 at the halfway stage. Oliver and James batted sensibly running good singles and James hitting 2 boundaries but being caught once so we were 249 with 1 pair to bat. Tom and Will also hit 3 4s between them and lost only 1 wicket meaning we were comfortable winners in the end by 25 runs. A great team effort so we can now look forward to Finals day next Sunday - same team selected, details to follow asap. Graeme
