After Tuesday's rain meant a cancellation we then had a solid win last night in a strange game where only 3 wickets fell all night. We put Hertford in and Harrison took an early wicket and our tight bowling kept them in check throughout the innings but we had to wait until the 15th over for William to take a catch off his own bowling for the next wicket. Thomas bowled 2 overs for 4 runs and captain Suzannah bowled 3 overs for only 5 runs including a last over maiden. I thought our fielding was very poor last night as we were very slow to attack the ball which could have prevented many singles and could have resulted in a run out or two - in the end Hertford made 256-2. Our batting proved very solid, as everyone followed the plan to be safe rather than over aggressive and we cruised to a score of 293-1, thanks in part to 51 extras, with Thomas top scoring with 14. One game to go in the 8-a-side competition where we are now almost guaranteed a quarter final slot but it would be great to win that one and finish unbeaten.
