Braughing v BSCC U11

We won the toss and decide to bowl first on a lovely sunny evening at Braughing. After a short delay where I had to tell the opposition the game was hardball and not incrediball we got underway with some very tight bowling from Tom and Luca, and this continued with the other bowling throughout their innings as they struggled to hit the hard ball. Two run outs from skipper William gained us 10 points and then with 2 wickets each from Tom and Joseph we restricted them to 225-6 in their 16 overs. Tom hit 3 boundaries in his 17 runs, but was bowled once while Luca, Harrison and James J added steadily to the score leaving us on 245 at the halfway stage. Joseph attacked the bowling from the start and struck 4 excellent boundaries making 19 runs but was also out twice, bowled and brilliantly caught in the deep. James G was unlucky to be bowled off his pads making 5 leaving us on 261 with the last pair to bat. William and Oliver both hit good fours but lost 3 wickets between them including a needless run out but still added 10 to the score giving us 271-7 to win by 46 runs. The previous day's fielding practice paid off today with 2 run outs and some near misses and our bowling was much better.
