We won the toss and elected to bat first with James (30 no) and Millie (4) starting confidently. Thomas came in after Millie and made a good 10 runs and Aaron joined him to add 16 with 2 boundaries once James had retired. William, Harrison and Suzannah all kept the score ticking along with 1s and 2s but we were helped by some wayward bowling giving us 38 extras and allowing us to reach 118-6 at the close which was a very good target. The Sawbridgeworth openers started aggressively hitting 5 boundaries between them but Oliver made the breakthrough with an excellent throw to run out one of them. Harrison took and early wicket followed by Millie bowling 2 batsman in 2 balls. Lily, making her hard ball debut, then removed the other dangerous opener for 23 which put us in a strong position. Their No7 came in and hit the ball very hard to get a very quick 30 but he was helped by some poor fielding on our part. Once he had gone they needed 26 runs in 5 overs but accurate bowling from Thomas, William, Luca (1-20), Harrison (2-12) and Suzannah meant they were to fall 6 runs short. The main difference was that we gave away only 19 extras which was half of their total. Well done to all as everyone contributed to the win.
