BSCC produced an excellent all round performance to beat Old Albanians by 15 runs in the Semi-Final at Welwyn Garden City.
We were asked to bat and were positive from the first ball which Toby cut for 4. He and Samuel added several more boundaries and with a number of extras took the score to 238 despite losing 1 wicket. Bertie and Tate continued nicely until the last ball when a ramp shot was poorly executed and Bertie was caught by the keeper - 251 at halfway. Edward and Archie ran superbly and good shots added another 30 to the score. Matthew and Griff added another 16 to the score despite being bowled 3 times between them so we finished on 297-5. Old Albanians started strongly but were pegged back to 223 after 4 overs by a wicket for Samuel. Bertie then took a wicket with his first ball and Griff took 2 wkts in a over putting us firmly in control. Edward and Archie bowled tightly without taking a wicket leaving them too much to do and a great catch from Samuel off Matthew sealed the win.
We march on the final 30 minutes later.......
