U11s v Ickleford

We played a very young and inexperienced team and after stressful journeys across Herts everything was plain sailing when the game got underway. Sam and Tate started cautiously until Sam smashed an excellent boundary but was then very unlucky to be bowled. Edward and Archie upped the base scoring 26 runs between them but a silly run out and an excellent caught and bowled knocked us back a bit, however that was the end of the wickets. Matthew added 16, Bertie 14 and Toby 22 hitting 8 boundaries between them and with 40 extras from wides and no balls we ended on our highest total this year, 314 - 3.
Sam started with a wicket on his first ball, clean bowling their opener and Bertie did the same in his first over and our opposition never recovered from this start. Bertie took another wicket along with Edward and tight bowling from Archie,Toby and Matthew they finished on 221-5. Even though the opposition was weak the good thing was we only bowled 3 wides and 2 no balls which will always help to keep the score down.
3 of out 3 now in the 8-A-side competition so hopefully we can keep this run going.
