U11s v Harpenden Girls

In our 2nd game in the 8-A-Side competition Edward asked the Girls to bat first and Sam took an early wicket and he and Toby bowled tightly against the first pair but Stortford took a grip of the game as Adam bowled Lucy and then Vishal took 3 wickets in an over thanks to 2 great catches from Edward and Archie and another ball taking out the middle stump. We continued to bowl well with Griff taking a caught and bowled in his spell. We took 5 more wickets against the last pair with 2 run outs and one each for Archie, Sam and Edward restricting the Girls to 202 - 10.
Toby and Sam started cautiously but when Toby was bowled in the 3rd over he played more aggressively scoring 10 runs from 7 balls - 208 at the end of their 4 overs. Adam and Vishal were each out once but took some good singles to ensure the score stayed at 208. Edward and Tate batted safely and a number of wides and a few singles got us to 230 after 12 overs. When Archie was clean bowled 2nd ball we were looking a bit shaky but he then proceeded to hit 4 super boundaries scoring 21 in all and with Griff saw us safely to 243 - 5 at the close.
Our batting continues to be inconsistent but the bowling and fielding was excellent again as we only bowled 4 wides and this was enough to give us our 2nd win in this league.
