U11s v Broxbourne

We won the toss and elected to bat and after an early run out Matthew and Edward set about the bowling aggressively and running well and when Edward was bowled for 11 Matthew was well supported by Archie who picked the gaps well to score 11 singles. Matthew then had to retire on 31 not out, finishing with 2 well hit 4s. We lost our way after that as only Griff added to the score with a patient 7 but we still ended on 88-9 which was a credible score.
It was very clear from the start this target was well out of reach as Adam and Samuel bowled 6 tight overs for only 6 runs. Edward bowled both openers cheaply and then Robert cleaned out the middle order with 3 wickets in his 2md over, all clean bowled. Archie took a further wicket and Griff 2 as Broxbourne ended their 20 overs on 53-9, 25 runs short.
Everyone got into the game and the team spirit was very good to see.
