Final Game for U11 League season

Our 3rd game in the week took its toll on our availability and we only get 9 bodies, thanks to Liam, Seth & Zain stepping in at the last minute.
We won the toss and batted first with Liam crashing 7 boundaries for his 33 not out and Vishal scoring a career high 19 before being bowled. For once Matthew failed but Zain batted well at No. 4 and Archie hit 1 good boundary before also missing a straight ball. Seth saw out their very quick bowler at the death, which was a brave effort especially as he followed Adam who suffered a nasty blow to the stomach from the same bowler. We ended on 88-4 which was respectable at least.
The opposition openers went on the attack straight away hitting 5 boundaries in the first 6 overs from Adam and Matthew and despite Liam taking a wicket with his second ball the onslaught continued as he, George and Archie were hit to the boundary. A very good catch in the deep by Liam off Archie was our only other success but Seth was unlucky not to take a wicket in the last over as he was foiled by a dropped catch. St Margaretsbury passed our total 2 wickets down in 12 overs.
Well done to U10s Zain and Seth in their first U11 game - hopefully they enjoyed the evening.
