U11 V Broxbourne

The U11s recorded their first win of the season thanks to another good bowling performance. We were able to bowl all 10 outfield players for 2 overs each with Toby Warnes and Thomas Boylan both taking 2 wickets in 2 balls. Matthew Crowther and Edward Swift took 1 wicket each and Griff Horrell bowled 2 very good maidens in his spell. We bowled a few wides which helped them to reach a fairly low target of 42 runs. Edward Swift and Tate Allington started well both hitting strong boundaries but just as it looked like we would cruise to victory one bowler from Broxbourne picked up 4 quick wickets by bowling straight and it was left to Sam Caton and Griff to see us home with 8 overs to spare.
We still have plenty of work to do on our batting, as many were out bowled playing across the line of a straight ball but the bowling and fielding is working well.
