U12As - 2 Wins in 2 Days

Some steady batting and then quality bowling made for a second win in two days for the U12As.

We batted first. St Margaretsbury had some tall and accurate opening bowlers and our boys struggled to score but we did well to only lose one early wicket and the runs then started to come. Ryan played patiently and set up the innings with 20 supported by Rohan. Ryan was caught trying to up the scoring rate in the second half of the innings. Another partnership by Veer and Adi took us to 95/4. We then lost some wickets going for quick runs, including the run out of Adi for a captain's knock of 24. We finished with 107/7 which seemed a good but perhaps not decisive score.

Ridley got the bowling off to a great start with a maiden. He was backed up by Jamie who took a wicket in his first two overs. More wickets soon followed from Ryan, Thomas and two from Rohan. St Margaretsbury were 42 for 6 but then dug in well and put on 34 for the 7th wicket. However a great bowling change from Adi to bring back Jamie blew the game open as he took three wickets in hos last over. Sam then cam back on to bowl and take his second wicket to finish the game.

Credit to Adi for a captain's innings and running the game well in the field, but Man of the Match goes to Jamie for pitching it up when needed!
