UNDER 12B's WIN AWAY AT PIRTON

The Eagles under 12B team showed continued signs of improvement in a comfortable win at Pirton on Sunday morning. . . . after a long 50 minute journey all the way to the other side of Hertfordshire! Eagles Captain Benji Curtis won the toss and decided to field.
In a quaint village cricket club setting, the sun was shining and a very green pitch offered some rather variable bounce. There were wickets for Josh Mitchell (1), Oliver Aiken (1) and Max Foster (2), but three bowlers really stood out; Benji Curtis bowled with real 'flight' to pick up 3 wickets. Seb Park also collected 2 wickets, as did Kimball Bevington - which included a wicket maiden. The Pirton total of 207 was never going to trouble the Eagles.
Matthew LW got the Eagles reply off to a good start and this solid start was continued by Daniel Pickup and Will Richardson, the latter who had previously kept wicket extremely well. Kimball Bevington looked very accomplished at the crease and finally Max Foster (9 not out) and Luca Livermore (15 not out) finished off the innings with some lusty blows in a 33 run partnership, with Luca hitting the last 3 balls of the innings for 3 consecutive boundaries.
