U12 EAGLES B TEAM STORM TO 86 RUN WIN

The U12 Eagles B team put in there 'most complete' performance of the season away at Hitchin on Monday evening. It was a sunny and tranquil setting, with the Pegsdon Hills and Hoo Bit Nature Reserve creating a glorious backdrop.
Hitchin elected to field. As the batting team, our goals were very clear: Do NOT lose too many wickets. I am delighted to report that the 5 pairs only lost 2 wickets in 20 overs, which was an outstanding effort. They all showed real maturity at the crease and well done to all those who did not lose a wicket. Our target of 330 was a formidable one.
Our instructions for bowling were also very clear. LIMIT the number of wides. We bowled a total of just 9 wides in 20 overs which (again) is a HUGE improvement on recent games, so very well done to: Henry L (2 wickets - in a double wicket maiden!), Daniel P (2 wickets in 2 balls), Benji C (2 wickets), Kimball B (2 wickets), Ethan DT (1 wicket), Barney A (1 wicket) and Matthew LW (best line and length of the season, his first over was a maiden).
Daniel Pickup captained the side really well, giving clear instructions to his team mates and he led by example with both bat and ball.
This team is going from strength to strength and that's now 5 wins out of 6. Well done boys.
