U12 EAGLES 'A TEAM' WIN COMFORTABLY AT HERTFORD

On an overcast evening, The U12 Eagles A team had no hesitation in batting first, on a pitch which offered some uneven bounce at Hertford. Our team batted sensibly; blocking the straight balls and attacking anything slightly wide. A total of 130 for the loss of 3 wickets was amassed, largely thanks to: Tom Foden (29 not out retired), Lewis Greenhill (25 not out retired), Charlie Waugh (21) and a fine knock from Ethan Hill (19).
Once again the Eagles bowling attack was extremely tight, finely led especially by Luca Livermore who finished with the impressive figures of 3 overs, 2 maidens, 2 wickets for just 1 run. Max Foster also picked up 2 wickets, Austen Greenhill got 1 wicket and Daniel Pickup (also 1 wicket) bowled by far his best spell of the season for the Eagles. Will Richardson continues to show promise and he was rather unlucky to only pick up 1 wicket, as his leg spin offered the team variety and he gave the ball some real flight and turn.
Ultimately Hertford ended up on 86, after a rather sloppy last few overs from The Eagles. But with the game already won, that can be forgiven and the Eagles ran out victors by 44 runs to make it 6 wins out of 6.
If this team continues to show the same togetherness, passion, pride and belief. . .then our goals can certainly be reached this Summer.
