u12 Sloggers B team one win away from an unbeaten season!

Great win for undefeated Bs against strong opposition in hot, windy conditions.
Batting first, Sloggers got off to a solid start. Toby and Alex batted beautifully to put on 35 undefeated against Sawbo’s strongest bowlers, both finding the boundary regularly.
We lost a few wickets in the middle overs, which stalled our progress, before Jack, Max and Daniel steadied the ship, putting on almost 50 for the last two pairs.
A score of 303 for 7 was probably around par on an uneven and lightning-fast outfield, with short boundaries.
Our bowling display started well, with Toby (2 wickets) and Alex (1) restricting the opening pair to 9 runs.
Sawbo’s batsmen then got on top in pairs 2 and 3, as regular boundaries and some sloppy fielding boosted Sawbo to 281 after 12 overs.
A first defeat of the season was staring us firmly in the face – could the boys pull this one back from the brink?
Cometh the hour, cometh the Max. Supported well by Jack, Max took three wickets in two excellent overs.
These wickets (plus two run outs) completely turned the match around, and enabled Daniel and Grace to finish things off with steady bowling at the death to restrict Sawbo to 289 for 10.
A fantastic result for the team, and a great demonstration of the strength in depth and team spirit in evidence across the whole age group.
