A thoroughly convincing win away at Broxbourne on a blustery but thankfully rain free evening. Broxbourne have a different philosophy to us and stream all their best in one team and hence their second team is significantly weaker. This proved to be the case as the Sloggers cruised along at 10-an-over for the first 10 overs thanks to Sam B (28no), Harry F (16), Byron (26no), Toby (25no). Our batters were thoroughly dominant which allowed us to ensure some who have not yet had much time in the middle spent at least a few overs...the pick of those was Harry B (11no). 155 for 2 was the least the boys deserved. In response Broxbourne struggled from the beginning. Wickets were shared between Eddie F, Conran, Alex B, Ed W, Frank P, Harry F and Toby. Our boys did well to keep the pressure on and retain their focus in a match they were never going to lose. Fielding was great at times. Toby took a wonder catch diving forward, we calmly executed 4 run outs but did drop 3 or 4 not very difficult catches.....so still some work to do. All in all a very professional performance. Tougher tests lie ahead!
