Dan (7) and Ed S(30 n.o.) started well enough putting together 22 runs off 5 overs, before Daniel popped a dolly to mid-on, not picking the slower delivery. Matt (11) also hit a couple of boundries, but was then bowled out. Stan Gay (20) then put a solid partnership with Ed, with the latter hitting a big 6, when he knew he was on 24! Felix and Beau were dismissed cheaply, but Dexter (22 n.o.) was a complete gun hitting 3 boundries - maybe batting lower down is better for him. BSCC ended with an above par 116/8 off their 20 overs, on a much better wicket than away at Hodds!

Beau (2o-3r-1w) and Stan M (2o-16r) opened the second innings with a tidy spell, with the former picking up a plum LBW. Dan L (3o-8r-1w) and Ed S (3o-6r-1w) kept it controlled in the second spell with a wicket each, building up pressure on Hodds batters. These bowlers kept Hodds on only 42/3 at the half way mark. Matt (2o-3r-1w), also picked up a wicket with tight bowling even with a dodgy back. However, it was Dexter's (3o-6r-3w) day at bowling too, as he mopped up the tail with 3 wickets with STRAIGHT deliveries. BSCC did get 2 run outs, but if I had to find one fault, it would be fielding, with over throws, lack of backing up and perhaps missing out on another couple of runout chances. Hodds fielded much better than us and in tight matches, fielding mistakes can be the difference between winning and losing.
Anyway, Hodds capitulated for 87/9 off their 20 overs as one wonderes how they are at top of the league and us at the bottom?!?!

Anyway, we have 2 remaining matches; St Margeretsbury next Friday and rained off replay versus Broxbourne on date tbc. Win both and we make it through to the Junior H&E play-offs, lose either and we're out!
