Broxbourne v BSCC U12

Having elected to bat first Broxbourne struggled early on as Sam Chapman bowled tightly and James Frans clean bowled the 2 openers. After that they began to take control as our bowling and fielding became a bit ragged. One wicket each for Aaron Walter, Jack Tye and Freddie Wiggins didn't slow the run rate down as they finished on 139-5 with 31 extras.
Unfortunately in reply Ruben Anten called for a quick single, changed his mind, and was run out in the first over. He was closely followed by Freddie and Luca Barnes which brought James Frans in to join Alex Warren who both played really well hitting 8 boundaries between them. After James was bowled on 24 Sam helped Alex to ticked the score along without ever looking like getting the acceleration needed to get close. He made 12 and Alex retired on 25 not out as we finished 94-5 a long way short.
We are still bowling too many loose deliveries and our fielding needs a lot of work if we are to compete against the stronger sides.
